Welcome to K9 Paws Behavior Dog Training, where we treat you and your beloved canine companion like family. Our mission is to empower dog owners with the knowledge and skills needed to handle and train their dogs effectively, using safe and humane methods.
At K9 Paws Behavior Dog Training, we believe in positive reinforcement training techniques. Rather than forcing your dog to obey commands, we guide them with treats, toys, and praise, allowing each dog to learn at their own pace. We take the time to discover each dog's favorite reward method, ensuring a personalized and enjoyable training experience.
Our outdoor training facility spans an impressive 45,560 square feet of outdoor space, providing real-world settings for our training sessions. From dirt bikes to birds flying overhead, and interactions with other dogs and animals, our training environment is designed to build your dog's self-confidence and prepare them for any situation they may encounter.
Our programs cater to owners who seek a well-trained, well-balanced K9 companion. We understand that every dog is unique, which is why we don't believe in cookie-cutter methods or false promises of faster training. Instead, we focus on providing comprehensive training programs tailored to the individual needs of each dog and owner.
Join us at K9 Paws Behavior Dog Training and embark on a journey towards a stronger bond with your furry friend. Together, we'll unlock your dog's full potential and create lasting memories of joy and companionship.
Welcome to K9 Paws Behavior Dog Training, where we tailor our programs to meet the unique needs of you and your canine companion.
Basic training essentials such as sit, heeling, and focus are fundamental for all dogs, and our courses ensure a solid foundation in these areas.
Moving beyond the basics, our advanced programs are customized to address specific challenges you and your dog may face, whether it's mastering long recalls, impulse control with commands like "leave it," or refining behaviors such as sending to place.
Recognizing that every dog learns at their own pace, we emphasize a patient and understanding approach. As our motto goes, "Slow is Fast" — we believe in the effectiveness of thorough, methodical training over quick fixes. In dog training, there's no substitute for patience and consistency.
Join us at K9 Paws Behavior Dog Training and embark on a journey of personalized training that celebrates the unique bond between you and your furry friend!
At our training center, we implement the same proven techniques on our own dogs that we'll utilize with yours. We understand the importance of trust and transparency, which is why we don't mandate the purchase of training tools like collars on the first day of class. While we offer treats, place boards, and beds for your convenience, the choice to purchase them from us is entirely yours.
Our commitment to excellence extends beyond training methods to encompass top-notch customer service. We operate with integrity, free from gimmicks or hidden costs, ensuring transparency and honesty every step of the way. Trust us to provide a seamless and enriching experience for both you and your beloved companion.
Introducing the "Place Command" program: At our facility, we specialize in training dogs, including personal pets, to master the Place Command. This crucial command teaches dogs to step onto elevated surfaces, aiding in various daily activities such as cooking, managing doors, assisting with homework, and accommodating workers in the home.
Owners are instructed to use a designated release word to signal the end of the command. Beyond household utility, this command proves invaluable in outdoor settings like hikes, where it can help prevent encounters with hazardous creatures such as rattlesnakes or Gila Monsters. Moreover, the Place Command serves as an entertaining skill for dogs pursuing Animal Actors Certification.
As a bonus, we offer innovative ideas and sell specialized equipment to enhance your dog's training experience. Join us and empower your furry companion with the Place Command mastery they deserve.
What is AKC Fit Dog ? AKC Fit Dog is an introductory level incentive program that any AKC Approved CGC Evaluator who has taken the online course and passed may teach using the methods approved by AKC. to help dog owners reach a specified fitness goal. These fitness exercises are recommended by physicians and veterinarian's.
AKC Fit Dog will reward those who meet the requirements with a very stylist car magnet. attend our Fit Dog class and earn a AKC Fit Dog Certificate. our class is based on the lead instructor's guidelines ( Jamie popper ) who is a Certified fitness instructor. you and your dog will have fun working on Blue-9 equipment such as the Klimbs and Air Propel ( we are dealers and can sell these to you so you can work at home)
Having a Fit Dog is not only good for physical but it is also for mental work as well. a well rounded dog is a happy dog that has been taught to think and use all his / her sense's.
AKC Does Require in this Fitness Program that No Prong Collars, No E-collars, are to be used. you may use food , treats, toys to help lure the dog .
In Oct, 2019.
K9 Paws Canine Conditioning AKC Fit Dog Club Was Formed. We hosted a Kids event teaching kids fun actives with their dogs that we learned in the Level 1 course. each child got the official AKC Fit Dog level 1 Certificate .
With the new level 2 we will be hosting a level 1 & 2 class both for kids and adults with their dogs to bond and have fun while learning fitness.
The main reason for our Fit Dog Club is to help those that want a better understanding of Canine Fitness how to get started in Canine Fitness, We also do Free Public Speaking with demos for schools, clubs, special events. we will bring our Blue-9 equipment and dog to demo the AKC Fit Dog and how having a Fit Dog will Benefit everyone.
We use a different approach to training, we use Markers. what are Markers? When the dog does the command we ask of Him / Her we ( Mark that Behavior ) with a Yes or Good. we will also mark with a Clicker sound or the snap of our fingers, why snapping the fingers and not always a clicker some dogs may not respond to the clicker.
We will pair a Clicker with the Maker word and at times also use rewards of treats, food, toys or just a squeaker. this will also get the dogs attention.
We do not always use a clicker in our programs but we do in our Therapy Dogs, Service Dog and SAR along with our Nose Work Scent Work Classes. in our Obedience we use marker words praise, treats, toys and other methods that will work as i have said before each dog learns at a different pace and they will respond to cues at a different pace / rate.
we do things at a slow pace so both owner and dog learn and have fun.
